Batman and Bill, Hulu Documentary Review

Batman and Bill is the story of Bill Finger, the Co-Creator of Batman, who was deprived of the credit he rightfully deserved.  This doc was very well done, I've known the Bill Finger story for quite some time but this doc provided a lot of great new info that I wasn't aware of. Marc Tyler Nobleman deserves a lot of credit for the work he put in to see that Bill Finger finally got his credit.

There were a lot of great interviews with comic legends like Roy Thomas, Carmine Infantino and Jerry Robinson. It really sheds light on what a scumbag Bob Kane really was. And really makes you think what Kane really even contributed to Batman. Bill created the iconic look, the Joker, Robin, Catwoman, the Riddler, Alfred, Commisioner Gordon and so on and so forth. Bill wrote all those stories and created Batmans origin, the Bat Symbol, Batmobile, Batcave. It's also widely known that Kane used ghost artists like Jerry Robinson and Sheldon Modolff. So what did Kane really do? He screwed Bill Finger out of the credit he deserved. And to go on and basically call Bill a liar is just disgusting. Bob Kane used others to make himself rich, that's what he cared about. Bill Finger cared about the character and all he wanted was what was rightfully his, to see his name associated with Batman.

This truly is a tragic story, for someone like Bill, who had created a character that has endured to this day and changed pop culture as we know it, to die penny less and alone, to not enjoy the success of his creation and to never live to see it become a major motion picture is just awful.

But thanks to people like Marc and others and with the help of the Finger family, they were able to get justice for Bill. DC did the right thing and gave Bill his credit. A credit which he deserved all along. The Gotham TV show and the Batman vs Superman movie was the first place we saw the credit " Batman created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger" and now and forever later printings of comics and movies witll all have that credit.

This is a must watch for any comic fan, especially Batman fans.

Without Bill Finger there would be no Batman.

This gets a 10/10.

eBay article part 2

First off I want to give a shout out to Trey K from CBSI for sharing my previous article. It garnered some decent attention and good discussion within the group. I also got some good questions from people so I thought I'd elaborate on a few things.  I just want to warn sellers of the risk of selling on eBay. And the huge pain it can be. The main question I got was how often does someone try to scam you? Honestly I would say about 1 in 10 sales. And the most common scam is people wanting a partial refund. They will say something like "hi the book arrived today but it's probably a 9.0 and not NM so can you refund me 25% and I'll just keep the book, I hope we can resolve this". All they are trying to do is get the book you sold them for a cheaper price. And how could they possibly know the grade if it's not slabbed. Collector, Speculator, Flipper... Can you be all of these? Sure why not?

Ok guys so it's Labor Day I'm bored and thought I'd right an article. So people tend to categorize others in sub sects of the collecting world. A friend of mine called me a flipper I said ok but I'm also a collector. He asked how can I be both? So let's first define each category. A collector is someone who collects comics, whether it be runs, keys, slabs, what have you, pretty self explanatory. A speculator, someone who buys a comic hoping the value will increase so they can sell it at a profit. A flipper, someone who buys a book for the sole purpose of selling it. Ok so now that's out of the way. I think we can be all three of those things. I don't know why "real collectors" look down on flippers and speculators. Now for me personally any money I make selling comics goes back into my collection. I don't do it as a business to support myself I do it to buy other things I won't for my collection.
