BlindBox Comics review

This is my review for BlindBox Comics. For those of you that don't know, BlindBox Comics is a new monthly subscription service. They were recently funded on Kickstarter and I was one of the people that backed them and I just got my box from them. I received 5 comics plus an exclusive variant for Enormous issue 9 limited to just 175 copies. As well as 3 signed Enormous prints.

Now for the review.
So the items I recieved were interesting. The 5 regular comics were, I a Hate Fairyland 1, Clean Room 1, Karnak 1, Paper Girls 1, and The Amazing Spiderman 1. So as far as those go it wasn't all that exciting. Out of those books I already had Paper Girls 1, I think Clean Room was just optioned so that was actually a book I was looking for. But as for the others, they aren't books I would buy or care about. The BlindVariant for Enormous 9 was great though. And as far as the packaging goes, it's well done. The comics are shipped in a box and inside the box the comics are in an envelope and the variant is in a separate envelope. They are also bagged and boarded.
Ok so that being said would I get another BlindBox? I'm not sure. If I had to give it a rating I'd say 7/10.

So I'll explain how it's works. BlindBox Comics is a monthly subscription. They have 3 different options.
You can order the BlindBox which gets you 5 comics and the price for a 1 month subscription including shipping is $26.99.
The second option is the BlindVariant which gets you 1 comic which will be an exclusive variant. And the price for a 1 month subscription including shipping is $19.99.
And the last option is the BlindBox Plus which gets you the 5 comics plus the exclusive BlindVariant. The price for a 1 month subscription including shipping is $32.99.
Now you will save a little money if you order a 3, 6, or 12 month subscription. I think the price is a little steep myself. If you get the BlindBox Plus you get 6 comics for $32.99 which is $5.50 per comic. The variant may be worth more but I don't think the regular comics are worth it.

eBay article part 2

First off I want to give a shout out to Trey K from CBSI for sharing my previous article. It garnered some decent attention and good discussion within the group. I also got some good questions from people so I thought I'd elaborate on a few things.  I just want to warn sellers of the risk of selling on eBay. And the huge pain it can be. The main question I got was how often does someone try to scam you? Honestly I would say about 1 in 10 sales. And the most common scam is people wanting a partial refund. They will say something like "hi the book arrived today but it's probably a 9.0 and not NM so can you refund me 25% and I'll just keep the book, I hope we can resolve this". All they are trying to do is get the book you sold them for a cheaper price. And how could they possibly know the grade if it's not slabbed. Collector, Speculator, Flipper... Can you be all of these? Sure why not?

Ok guys so it's Labor Day I'm bored and thought I'd right an article. So people tend to categorize others in sub sects of the collecting world. A friend of mine called me a flipper I said ok but I'm also a collector. He asked how can I be both? So let's first define each category. A collector is someone who collects comics, whether it be runs, keys, slabs, what have you, pretty self explanatory. A speculator, someone who buys a comic hoping the value will increase so they can sell it at a profit. A flipper, someone who buys a book for the sole purpose of selling it. Ok so now that's out of the way. I think we can be all three of those things. I don't know why "real collectors" look down on flippers and speculators. Now for me personally any money I make selling comics goes back into my collection. I don't do it as a business to support myself I do it to buy other things I won't for my collection.
