NYCC day 3 updates.
So there has been a lot of cool news coming out of New York Comic Con today. I'll start with the big event of the day first, but let me say I want to thank New York Comic Con and Twitch TV for partnering and broadcasting there panels on a Twitch live steam so that those of us who couldn't make it to the con could also enjoy the panels.

So that being said, let me start with the Walking Dead panel. I watched the entire panel, except they cut away when the exclusive footage was shown. It was said that the season 5 premiere takes place right after the season 4 finale. Robert Kirkman stated that this season will stick closer to the comics than any of the previous seasons. It was announced that the second half of the season will premiere on Sunday, February 8th. Andrew Lincoln also joked about wishing he hadn't killed Shane, because he said that Rick is brutal this season and kills a lot of people.

Ok so after I watched the Walking Dead panel I swtiched over to Stephen Amell's panel. Walking Dead did run a little long so I missed the first few minutes.
But that being said I still was able to watch most of it and it was great.
Stephen said that episode 9, which is the fall finale, ends with the biggest fight in show history. He said its a comic book based fight and it's one on one with swords, so I'm hoping for a showdown with Ras Al Ghul. Stephen also said that Oliver's kid will be brought back up this season. Someone asked him about seeing more DC heroes and villains on the show and specifically asked about Nightwing, Stephen's response was, more will appear but probably not Nightwing. Someone also asked if Ted Kord will be on the show and he said he didn't know. When asked about more trick arrows he had no comment but said that they had been trying to get a boxing glove arrow on the show and may have finally found a way to do it. Stephen said that he missed Tommy Merlin and then Colin Donnell walked out on stage and they said that he will be in a flashback sequence this coming Wednesday in episode 2. Stephen said that there are scenes in episodes 3,4,8, and 9 that he is particularly excited for. He also said that episode 5 is a Felicity origin story. And finally from that panel Stephen said that he is excited to see what Katie Cassidy has in store for her character this season.

Now in some comic book news, Marvel announced that Wolverine will die next week. They also announced that Guardians of the Galaxy and Xmen will have a crossover event called, The Black Vortex, which will begin in February. Marvel also stated that they are launching a new Star Wars series in April with issue 1 of Kanan.
Greg Cappulo and Scoot Snyder talked about the current Batman Endgame storyline saying that they are very excited for what's to come and we haven't seen anything yet.

In other news, the trailer for the PlayStation show Powers was shown. Also the new logo and synopsis for the Daredevil Netflix show was released.

eBay article part 2

First off I want to give a shout out to Trey K from CBSI for sharing my previous article. It garnered some decent attention and good discussion within the group. I also got some good questions from people so I thought I'd elaborate on a few things.  I just want to warn sellers of the risk of selling on eBay. And the huge pain it can be. The main question I got was how often does someone try to scam you? Honestly I would say about 1 in 10 sales. And the most common scam is people wanting a partial refund. They will say something like "hi the book arrived today but it's probably a 9.0 and not NM so can you refund me 25% and I'll just keep the book, I hope we can resolve this". All they are trying to do is get the book you sold them for a cheaper price. And how could they possibly know the grade if it's not slabbed. Collector, Speculator, Flipper... Can you be all of these? Sure why not?

Ok guys so it's Labor Day I'm bored and thought I'd right an article. So people tend to categorize others in sub sects of the collecting world. A friend of mine called me a flipper I said ok but I'm also a collector. He asked how can I be both? So let's first define each category. A collector is someone who collects comics, whether it be runs, keys, slabs, what have you, pretty self explanatory. A speculator, someone who buys a comic hoping the value will increase so they can sell it at a profit. A flipper, someone who buys a book for the sole purpose of selling it. Ok so now that's out of the way. I think we can be all three of those things. I don't know why "real collectors" look down on flippers and speculators. Now for me personally any money I make selling comics goes back into my collection. I don't do it as a business to support myself I do it to buy other things I won't for my collection.
