The Flash Season 1 Premiere review.
Ok wow that was a really great episode. The story was great and I really liked the characters.
So as a comic book fan I always expect the studios to take liberties with the property and change some things, which they did, but I didn't really mind.
So we see quite a bit in this episode. We see the death of Barry's mother at the hands of Professor Zoom aka Eobard Thawne. And his father is framed for his mothers murder. We also meet detective Joe West and his daughter Iris, who we all know from the comics as the love interest and future wife of Barry Allen. We also meet the S.T.A.R. Labs team members, one of which happens to be Caitlin Snow, and for those of you have have been reading the New 52 comics, might know her as Killer Frost. And the lead member of the S.T.A.R. Labs team is Doctor Harrison Wells, who is pretty mysterious.
The villain in this episode was Weather Wizard, which was done pretty well.
We also got to see a cameo appearance by Green Arrow, Oliver Queen himself, which was really awesome. The part where Green Arrow turns and looks as Barry runs away and says "cool" was awesome.
This was just an all around great episode. There were quite a few "Easter eggs" for those of you who are familiar with The Flash comics. The episode also ended in a very interesting way. We see Doctor Wells, who after the accident with the particle accelerator, was confined to a wheel chair, go into a secret room. He then stands up and walks over to a machine that projects a hologram of a newspaper from the future with the headline " The Flash vanishes in a Crisis". So what does this mean? Is this possibly a reference to Crisis on Infinite Earths? Who knows, but I can't wait to find out.
I'm really looking forward to future episodes.
I'd give this episode a 9/10

The strain episode 10 review 9/14/14 So we start this episode off in the pawn shop. Eph's kid is trying to find his mom, so he tracked her phone. So Eph is going to try and find her. The Eph/Nora drama is annoying.  And his kid is wicked annoying. So the team is trying to form a plan to kill the Master. Eph goes looking for his wife but doesn't find her. Some homeless woman had his wife's phone. The woman shows him where she found the phone. Now we are flashing back to 32 hours earlier. Eph's wife is in bed when her infected boyfriend comes home. She goes to check on him but he's locked himself in the bathroom. She goes to work and finds most of the kids in her class are out sick. She starts to believe what Eph told her and wants to leave town. She goes back home to find her infected boyfriend there, he attacks her and she gets infected. Comic Book Speculation, Is It Worth The Risk?

So right now in comics we live in the Speculation Age. As far as I'm concerned the Modern Age is over. Let's start by defining speculation. And I'll give a broad definition. At its core speculation is when you buy a book because you believe it will go up in value and you will be able to sell it later at a profit. Now that's a very broad explanation. By no means am I an expert. There are some very good sites out there that have very detailed articles and tons of great info. One of my favorites is CBSI, go check them out at  www.comicbookinvest.com They have some great people pumping out articles with tons of knowledge. And in this hobby knowledge is power. So I'm going to discus if speculation is worth the time and money. So there are different ways to speculate.
