The strain episode 12 review 9/28/14
So first off sorry that I didn't post a review for the last episode, but last week we left off with the team almost getting the Master. 
So they start by regrouping at the pawn shop. 
Then we see a flashback after WWII and the vampire hunter is tracking down the Master. 
We also see that the vampire hunter had a wife. 
The vampire hunter keeps a vampire heart in a jar, that's gross and weird. 
So the hacker girl returns to the team. 
So she wants to use the emergency alert system to notify people about what is happening. 
Gus takes some guy at gunpoint and forces him to drive him. 
So the vampire hunter guy isn't looking so great these days. 
Now we flash back again, he is hunting the Master, he goes down this old well and into this sort of cave or tunnel. So after going down the tunnel he comes across of group of vampires and the Master talks through one of them, he goes back to the well but the rope he used to get down is gone and the nazi vampire is at the top. The nazi leaves him at the bottom of the well. 
The exterminator and the hacker girl have a little heart to heart. 
He Eph is trying to think of what to say on the emergency alert system. 
Gus takes that guy at gunpoint and has him drive somewhere, so Gus can get guns and ammo. Some guy comes buy and drops off a bag to the guy that Gus is robbing. Gus checks the bag and its full of money. 
The vampire hunter gives a speech, pretty much about how much he wants to kill the Master. 
So we flash back to him in the well. He's trying to climb up out of it and eventually makes it out. When he gets out he sees that the nazi vampire had killed his horse, he then runs home to find his wife gone and the house has been turned upside down. 
Alright so back at the pawn shop they are ready to broadcast their message. So Eph gives his speech and they think they got it through. So they are under attack at the pawn shop. Nora's mother is killed and the nazi vampire comes with more vampires. 
Back to Gus, the guy he took captive takes him to a shipping container, gus makes him open it and it's full of vampires. Then the vampires who hunt other vampires come and kill all the vampires that where in the container and take Gus. 
Back at the pawn shop, the vampires are trying to get to the team down in the basement. So they pack up what they need and take all the weapons. They all escape through a back way and Nora kills her mother after she was infected. 
Another flash back, the vampire hunter's wife had been turned and he had to kill her. 
So you find out that the heart that he keeps in the jar was his wife's. 
He leaves the heart at the shop and escapes with the others. 
Now to the old rich guy, the Master pays him a visit. The Master drops some liquid, I don't know if it was his blood or what, into the old guys mouth and it seems to have healed him. 
So I actually really liked this episode. We got to see a little bit of everyone's story. 
I'd give this episode a 7.5/10
Next week is the season finale so I'm excited for that, what have you guys thought of the strain this year?

eBay article part 2

First off I want to give a shout out to Trey K from CBSI for sharing my previous article. It garnered some decent attention and good discussion within the group. I also got some good questions from people so I thought I'd elaborate on a few things.  I just want to warn sellers of the risk of selling on eBay. And the huge pain it can be. The main question I got was how often does someone try to scam you? Honestly I would say about 1 in 10 sales. And the most common scam is people wanting a partial refund. They will say something like "hi the book arrived today but it's probably a 9.0 and not NM so can you refund me 25% and I'll just keep the book, I hope we can resolve this". All they are trying to do is get the book you sold them for a cheaper price. And how could they possibly know the grade if it's not slabbed. And that's another thing I wanted to touch on, when I list a book for sale I will list the condition, for example if it's near mint I wi...

Collector, Speculator, Flipper... Can you be all of these? Sure why not?

Ok guys so it's Labor Day I'm bored and thought I'd right an article. So people tend to categorize others in sub sects of the collecting world. A friend of mine called me a flipper I said ok but I'm also a collector. He asked how can I be both? So let's first define each category. A collector is someone who collects comics, whether it be runs, keys, slabs, what have you, pretty self explanatory. A speculator, someone who buys a comic hoping the value will increase so they can sell it at a profit. A flipper, someone who buys a book for the sole purpose of selling it. Ok so now that's out of the way. I think we can be all three of those things. I don't know why "real collectors" look down on flippers and speculators. Now for me personally any money I make selling comics goes back into my collection. I don't do it as a business to support myself I do it to buy other things I won't for my collection.
