A random post
Hey everyone, I just felt like talking about a few things. First, Guardians of the Galaxy made almost 100 million dollars this weekend domestically, not surprising because it's a Marvel movie and it has a talking raccoon, so I'm sure kids loved it. What has surprised me is that probably 99% of people that I've talked to about the movie think it's the best Marvel movie to date... I guess I just don't get it, but moving on...
I will be posting my review for episode 4 of the strain tonight so I hope you'll enjoy that. Also I will be going to Boston Comic Con, which is Friday thru Sunday, August 8-10, at the end of each day of the con I'll post my experiences for that day, from the people I meet to the comics I pick up. And then sometime after that I'll be posting a haul video on my YouTube channel so look out for that, you can find a link to my channel in the "about me" page. The strain episode 10 review 9/14/14 So we start this episode off in the pawn shop. Eph's kid is trying to find his mom, so he tracked her phone. So Eph is going to try and find her. Comic Book Speculation, Is It Worth The Risk?

So right now in comics we live in the Speculation Age. As far as I'm concerned the Modern Age is over. Let's start by defining speculation. And I'll give a broad definition. At its core speculation is when you buy a book because you believe it will go up in value and you will be able to sell it later at a profit. Now that's a very broad explanation. By no means am I an expert. There are some very good sites out there that have very detailed articles and tons of great info. One of my favorites is CBSI, go check them out at  www.comicbookinvest.com They have some great people pumping out articles with tons of knowledge. And in this hobby knowledge is power. So I'm going to discus if speculation is worth the time and money. So there are different ways to speculate. eBay article part 2

First off I want to give a shout out to Trey K from CBSI for sharing my previous article. It garnered some decent attention and good discussion within the group. I also got some good questions from people so I thought I'd elaborate on a few things.  I just want to warn sellers of the risk of selling on eBay. And the huge pain it can be. The main question I got was how often does someone try to scam you? Honestly I would say about 1 in 10 sales. And the most common scam is people wanting a partial refund. They will say something like "hi the book arrived today but it's probably a 9.0 and not NM so can you refund me 25% and I'll just keep the book, I hope we can resolve this". All they are trying to do is get the book you sold them for a cheaper price. And how could they possibly know the grade if it's not slabbed.
