The strain episode 4 review 8/3/2014
SPOILERS ahead if you haven't seen this episode.
So we start this episode where we left off last week, in the hospital after Eph killed the vampire. Jim is getting to be annoying. So the wife that walked in on her husband drinking blood, doesn't seem that freaked out by it, which is extremely weird. So we see this Gus character, I'm still trying to figure him out. There is a lot of mindless talking going on...
Ok so Eph is performing an autopsy on the vampire. He pulls the tongue thing out, that was gross. Jim is freaking out. And Eph just realized that they can reproduce, as in convert humans to whatever they are, because they still don't call them vampires. Ok so I'm starting to like Gus, the super for his mom's building disrespected his mom and Gus shut him up real quick.
The non concerned wife comes home to find her poor dog dead. She hears a noise in her shed and looks for her husband. He has chained himself up in the shed because he's in the process of turning. I don't know what to say about this lady, but at least she got out of the shed.
Gus brings the old man his clock back that his stupid brother stole. I'm starting to think that Gus will end up on the good side.
Jim confesses to Eph that he waived the box through at the airport, and tells him everything, stupid Jim...
Eph punches Jim in the face, that was awesome, he definitely deserved that.
Ok so this annoying neighbor goes to the wife's house as she's burying the dog, he thinks that the dog is in the shed making noise and threatens to call the police if she doesn't shut the dog up. She tells him to go in the shed and do it for her, knowing that her husband will kill him, she pushed him and and well, you see blood pouring out, so we know what happened. That lady has issues... But the guy kind of had it coming. So for some reason the head vampire and the older guy that's working with him wanted to cut off communication, so they hired a woman to hack cell towers.
So this old guy is dying, he passes out and needs surgery.
So Eph goes to the house of the man who's daughter came back as a vampire, so he finds the little vampire girl and she tries to attack him, the old man who is the vampire hunter comes in and cuts her head off. The father, who is now also a vampire comes in and the old man kills him too.
The old man is pretty badass. They should have listened to him.
Alright so overall this was another good episode, I kind of had high hopes for it because last week ended so crazy but there were still some slow parts.
We still haven't seen a ton of vampires, or really much action, but the story is progressing, slowly. I have a feeling Gus will play a bigger part in the story so I'm interested to see his character develop. I'm still intrigued and will definitely be watching next week.
I'd give this episode a 7/10.

eBay article part 2

First off I want to give a shout out to Trey K from CBSI for sharing my previous article. It garnered some decent attention and good discussion within the group. I also got some good questions from people so I thought I'd elaborate on a few things.  I just want to warn sellers of the risk of selling on eBay. And the huge pain it can be. The main question I got was how often does someone try to scam you? Honestly I would say about 1 in 10 sales. And the most common scam is people wanting a partial refund. They will say something like "hi the book arrived today but it's probably a 9.0 and not NM so can you refund me 25% and I'll just keep the book, I hope we can resolve this". All they are trying to do is get the book you sold them for a cheaper price. And how could they possibly know the grade if it's not slabbed. Collector, Speculator, Flipper... Can you be all of these? Sure why not?

Ok guys so it's Labor Day I'm bored and thought I'd right an article. So people tend to categorize others in sub sects of the collecting world. A friend of mine called me a flipper I said ok but I'm also a collector. He asked how can I be both? So let's first define each category. A collector is someone who collects comics, whether it be runs, keys, slabs, what have you, pretty self explanatory. A speculator, someone who buys a comic hoping the value will increase so they can sell it at a profit. A flipper, someone who buys a book for the sole purpose of selling it. Ok so now that's out of the way. I think we can be all three of those things. I don't know why "real collectors" look down on flippers and speculators. Now for me personally any money I make selling comics goes back into my collection. I don't do it as a business to support myself I do it to buy other things I won't for my collection.
