Boston Comic Con day 3
The final day of Boston Comic Con has come to an end, and man was it awesome. I can say for sure that this is the best convention I've ever attended and I can't wait to go back next year.
My experience today was extremely positive. The dealers that I already knew continued to give me great deals. Also some new dealers that I met on Friday and was able to build a great relationship over the weekend with, did so as well. I was even able to help my local comic shop owner find a book that he was looking for.
One new dealer in particular was awesome, I spent a lot of time at his booth, buying books, talking about books and movies, and I even sold him some books and he gave me a very fair price for them. He had his wife working the show with him and she was great as well, really cool people. Really everyone there was a pleasure to interact with.
I went back to see Tim Seely and Mike Norton today and had them sign another issue of revival for me, they were just as friendly today as they were the first day, if you guys ever get the chance to meet them, I'd suggest you do so.
I really wanted to get a sketch done this weekend and I wanted it to be of Harley Quinn, and I was trying to decide who I wanted to do the sketch. So the new dealer that I mentioned before showed me a sketch that he had gotten from Ming Doyle of Rocket Raccoon and Groot, and it was amazing. I knew she had a reputation for drawing female characters really well so I decided to have her do the sketch for me.
She was extremely nice and only charged $40 for the sketch, which is very reasonable, and she did an amazing job, it couldn't have come out any better. So that was awesome.
Continuing my trend of buying a great book to start my day, today my first purchase was Batman 227, one of the most iconic batman covers, and an amazing work of art by Neal Adams. I went a little Harley Quinn crazy today and bought almost 20 issues. Before this weekend I only had issues 1 and 2 of Harley Quinn from her first series, now I only need 6 issues to finish the 38 issue run. I was able to find more justice league issues that I needed and a few other random books.
I wasn't really as focused on buying books today as I was the last two days, I just wanted to relax and enjoy the show. But I still walked away with a lot of great stuff.
I really enjoyed every minute of this convention and I'll be counting down the days until Boston Comic Con 2015.
Day 3 is another 10/10
I hope you guys enjoy reading about my experiences and get a sense for what BCC 2014 was like!
