The strain episode 6 review 8/17/14
SPOILERS ahead.
Ok so last week wasn't so great so let's hope this episode is better.
They keep talking about this eclipse that's coming so I'm assuming that it has some significance to the story.
So the nazi vampire guy has this guy chained up in a padded room, very weird, then he kills him.
So the cops and now the FBI are after Eph because they think he killed the pilot. I still don't really understand the exterminator guys part in all this, he saw the vampires and didn't really do anything about it. So Eph's wife's boyfriend is a moron and calls the FBI on Eph and they take him away for questioning.
So the wife and boyfriend are arguing now, she really needs to dump this guys, he's so damn annoying.
Now back to the vampire hunter, he's on the hunt for others on his list of the people that were on the airplane. He goes into the basement of a house and it's covered in blood, there are four or five vampires down there. He kills the first one no problem, then seems to be having a heart attack and tries to take some medication but drops it. He shoots the other vamps with his silver nail gun and barely makes it out of there. The old vampire hunter isn't looking so good.
So Gus is brought to see the nazi vampire, Gus doesn't want to work for him anymore but he threatens to have his mother deported if he doesn't do another job for him. Gus tires to fight the nazi vamp and kind of gets his ass kicked, so he's going to do the job.
So now Eph is being questioned about the pilot's death. The FBI isn't listening to what Eph is trying to tell them.
This episode is dealing with way to many different characters and stories right now.
So the exterminator goes back to the office and finds nobody there, he opens up a storage room and finds his boss who has turned, he then lets the sunlight in and kills him. He also finds the secretary girl who has also changed and does the same to her.
Eph is still trying to explain himself to the FBI and they still don't want to listen. He tells them he will take them to the rest of the bodies.
So Jim helps Gus do the job that the vampire wanted him to do, which was to dispose of a body.
So back to the exterminator, he goes to his parents house and he warns them to get out of the city. His father and him don't get along. It's these moments in the show that really slow down the story and make me lose interest.
The eclipse is starting...
So the FBI guys are transporting Eph when Eph sees the medical examiner that went missing. The FBI guys get out of the car and confront him, but he had turned and kills them.
Gus and his friend are attacked and his friend ends up getting infected.
Eph goes to meet the vampire hunter, who has been keeping Nora and her mother safe at his shop. He says he's got a new plan...
Ok so this episode wasn't a whole lot better than last week. It definitely had its slow boring spots. The story is progressing although it really doesn't seem like it is because it's moving so slowly. Towards the end of the episode more people started to get attacked and the vampire problem seemed to get more serous so I'm hoping next week will have a lot more action and a lot less talking.
So this episode was alright it could have been better but it wasn't bad. I'm still going to continue to watch the show,I just hope it gets better.
I'd give this episode a 6/10
Well I hope you guys enjoy my review!
