Batman Assault on Arkham review 8/12/2014
SPOILERS ahead if you haven't seen this yet.
So let's start off with the animation style. I liked it a lot. I think it really worked will for the movie. It's a little less like the Japanese animation style that DC has used in some of its animated movies. I'm not a huge fan of the Japanese style so I liked the animation in this movie.
Batman didn't play a huge part in this movie. It was more focused on the Suicide Squad. Harley Quinn was great in the movie. I liked Killer Frost and Deadshot as well. The other characters were ok but not great.
So Amanda Waller sends the Squad after the Riddler who hacked her computer and stole information on the Suicide Squad. The Riddler is in Arkham so the Squad needs to break in. The Joker and the Penguin also have small parts in the movie.
Batman is also on the hunt for a dirty bomb that the Joker planted somewhere in Gotham. So the Squad breaks into Arkham Asylum and now they need to find the Riddler's cane, which is where he stashed the info.
So when they find the cane Batman shows up and they have a huge battle. But Waller played them and there was nothing in the cane, she sent Killer Frost on her own mission to kill the Riddler. The Joker escapes from his cell. The Riddler tells Killer Frost that he knows how to diffuse the bombs that Waller put in their heads so she doesn't kill him. So it looks like the Squad defeated batman and they get the Riddler to the medical center to diffuse the bombs.
But Batman wasn't defeated, he disguised himself as the Black Spider. The Joker comes in and tries to kill everyone.
So the Joker hid the dirty bomb inside the mallet that Harley was carrying. The Joker releases all the inmates in Arkham, including Bane, Poison Ivy and Two-Face.
Deadshot escapes in a helicopter, the Joker and Harley are also on it. The Joker and Deadshot fight in the helicopter, then batman who was pursuing in the bat plane, gets on board. The helicopter ends up crashing and they are separated. The Joker and Deadshot fight again and Batman is able to get the mallet from Harley and diffuse the bomb. Deadshot kills the Joker... We think
Batman has words with Waller and warns her to end the Suicide Squad. The final scene is Deadshot with Waller in his sights and a laser on her head.
Ok so overall this was a pretty good movie. It wasn't my favorite DC animated movie but it was good. This definitely isn't a kids cartoon. There is a lot of violence and killing, there is some partial nudity and some swearing.
But if you like the Suicide Squad and a more mature animated movie I'd recommend it to you. Harley was definitely my favorite character.
I'd give it a 7.5/10.

eBay article part 2

First off I want to give a shout out to Trey K from CBSI for sharing my previous article. It garnered some decent attention and good discussion within the group. I also got some good questions from people so I thought I'd elaborate on a few things.  I just want to warn sellers of the risk of selling on eBay. And the huge pain it can be. The main question I got was how often does someone try to scam you? Honestly I would say about 1 in 10 sales. And the most common scam is people wanting a partial refund. They will say something like "hi the book arrived today but it's probably a 9.0 and not NM so can you refund me 25% and I'll just keep the book, I hope we can resolve this". All they are trying to do is get the book you sold them for a cheaper price. And how could they possibly know the grade if it's not slabbed. Collector, Speculator, Flipper... Can you be all of these? Sure why not?

Ok guys so it's Labor Day I'm bored and thought I'd right an article. So people tend to categorize others in sub sects of the collecting world. A friend of mine called me a flipper I said ok but I'm also a collector. He asked how can I be both? So let's first define each category. A collector is someone who collects comics, whether it be runs, keys, slabs, what have you, pretty self explanatory. A speculator, someone who buys a comic hoping the value will increase so they can sell it at a profit. A flipper, someone who buys a book for the sole purpose of selling it. Ok so now that's out of the way. I think we can be all three of those things. I don't know why "real collectors" look down on flippers and speculators. Now for me personally any money I make selling comics goes back into my collection. I don't do it as a business to support myself I do it to buy other things I won't for my collection.
