Boston Comic Con day 1
Wow what a day...
Let me start off by saying that Boston Comic Con has already surpassed all my expectations and it's only the end of day 1. There were way more people there today than I thought there would be. There were a ton of great dealers who brought a lot of quality books. Of course some books we're really over priced but a lot were priced well.
So I got to meet some awesome artists and writers. I met Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo, those two guys were awesome, so nice and just happy to be there and interact with the fans. I met Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti, they were also great, really friendly and super cool. I met Tim Seely and Mike Norton, they were great and Tim even did a quick sketch for me, free of charge. I met Gail Simone, she was wicked awesome. I also met Mark Waid, who I've met before, and he's always wicked nice. I met some other cool people as well. The only negative experience I had was with Arthur Suydam, he was pretty full of himself and if you wanted to get a book signed he made you buy something from his table.
I knew a lot of the dealers that were at the show, my local comic shop owner was there and guys from other local shops were there, as well as dealers I've met in the past at other cons. They all hooked me up with great deals. I'm going to do a haul video on my YouTube channel next week, so when I do I'll leave a link for that.
To give an example of the kind of deals I got, the very first book I bought, that set the tone for the day was Strange Adventures 205, the first appearance of Deadman. Now it's not a near mint copy, but I'd say its a FN-, and I only paid $20 for it. Now for those of you who are familiar with the book, you know that's a great deal.
And that was how the entire day went for me, just great deal after great deal.
So overall my day 1 experience was amazing, I could not have asked for anything better. I cannot wait to go back tomorrow and do it all again. Even though I'm exhausted and tomorrow is a longer day, I wouldn't want to be anyway else.
Day 1 gets a 10/10
I hope you guys enjoy reading this!
