From Hell coming to FX One of the great Alan Moore works, From Hell, based on the Jack the Ripper murders is being adapted for a TV series by FX. From Hell was a great read so let's hope the network does it justice. No word yet on when the series is supposed to start or how ,any episodes it will be. It will be interesting to see who is cast for the series. If you guys haven't read From Hell go check it out and let me know what you think!

Spider-Man and Fantstic Four.... Sony what are you thinking...? So lets start with Spiderman. The latest rumor is Sony is developing a Spiderman movie, without Spiderman and will star a young Aunt May. And the plot sounded so stupid I wont even explain it. And now to the even worse Fantastic Four Movie, apparently it's supposed to be realistic, which makes no sense because this is a comic book movie, and the worst part of all, the Doctor Doom character will not be Victor Von Doom, he will be called something else, he will not be the ruler of Latvaria, but a blogger and his internet name will be Doom. This movie is doomed. Could it get any worse than that? I don't think so.

Harley Quinn cast in Suicide Squad movie?!?! Harley has been the center of speculation for quite some time now, and it looks like we may finally get to see her on the big screen. It is being reported that Margot Robbie has been cast to play Harley in the Suicide Squad movie. I have to be honest I did not know who she was, I guess she had her breakout role in Wolf of Wallstreet, which I didn't see. But with people posting pics of her on Twitter I think she has to look to pull off Harley Quinn. And this is being reported by a few different sources so I'm hoping it's true. Geoff Johns also just put out a series of tweets, he posted the names and pictures of various villains, one of them being Harley, so what does this mean? Are these villains going to be in upcoming DC movies? Or was he just posting these names for the heck of it? Only he knows I guess.

The Joker in the Suicide Squad movie? Today's rumor is that the Joker will be in the Sucicde Squad movie. Jared Leto's name has been thrown out there but of course this is just a rumor. How would they use the Joker in the movie? Obviously he couldn't be a team member, he doesn't play well with others. So could he be the villain in the movie, maybe just make a cameo, we don't know any other details yet and like I said it's just a rumor. As always I'll keep you guys posted with any further news!

Rhode Island comic con 2014. So this year was the first year I went to Rhode Island comic con. It was pretty fun. Although I owe a huge thank you to a friend of mine who's a dealer and got me a pass today so I didn't need to wait in line. I did hear a lot of complaints from people as far as how the con was run. It was very disorganized and didn't run smoothly. People had to wait in line for a very long time. I heard that they even had to many people in the building at one point and the fire marshal said no more people could go in. So people had to wait even longer outside before they were let in. And the set up of the show was not that great. It had an inefficient floor plan that caused a lot of traffic and it took a while to get around. But personally I had a great time. I bought quite a few key issues and some very nice books. I finally broke down and got myself a Batman Aventures number 12, which is the first appearance of Harley Quinn. I got to see a lot of people ...

Avengers Infinity War "trailer" leaks! So I guess someone leaked the trailer from the Marvel event the other day. Well I just watched it and I wouldn't really call it a trailer. Basically it's clips from previous Marvel movies with the Infinity Gems and it ends with Thanos wearing the Infinity Gauntlet, which is where the still shot that was released was taken from. So don't go crazy trying to find this leaked "trailer", there is no footage from Infinity War, remember this movie doesn't come out until May of 2018, it probably won't even start filming until 2016. But it was still cool to see Thanos!

Marvel announces movie schedule through 2019. Well Marvel had its special event today and hit us head on with a ton of movie news. So let me start with Captain America 3 which will be titled Captain America Civil War , and hits theaters on May 6, 2016. Next we get Doctor Strange on November 4, 2016. Then Gaurdians of the Galaxy 2 on May 5, 2017. After that is Thor Ragnarok on July 28, 2017. Then a big confirmation, the long awaited Black Panther movie will happen and be released on November 3, 2017. We will then get Avengers Infinity War Part 1 in May of 2018. Then we get another highly anticipated addition with Captain Marvel on July 6, 2018. After that is Inhumans on November 2, 2018. And lastly Avengers Infinity War Part 2 in May of 2019. Wow that is a lot of big news. A few other things were revealed as well. They showed the logos for all the movies. Concept art for Black Panther was shown, and it looks amazing!  And Chadwick Boseman has already been cast as...

Age of Apocalypse will be here summer 2015. No not the movie..., Marvel has announced yet another comic storyline that they will be revisiting. This time it's Age of Apocalypse. We can only speculate if this story will relate to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as the next Xmen movie is slated to have Apocalypse and the Four Horsemen. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Five Ghosts will begin filming in January. Syfy has said that production of Five Ghosts will begin in January. They said the scripts are currently being written and casting will start once the scripts are completed. Syfy also stated that the show will stay true to the comic book story, which makes me very excited for this show. Five Ghosts should premiere next fall if all goes well. Are you guys looking forward to a Five Ghosts TV series? I know I am. I'll definitely keep you all updated with any news about the show!

A Krypton TV show in the works? Supposedly David S. Goyer is being tied to a pre-superman show. Not a lot of details have come out yet but it's being speculated that the show will take place on Krypton and deal with the people of Krypton. We can only speculate what characters would be in the show from the comics, perhaps Jor-El and Zor-El, maybe General Zod, but who knows? I'll keep you guys updated if any other news arises!

Doctor Strange finally cast. Well it's offical, it was announced today that after months of speculation around who would play Steven Strange, Benedict Cumberbatch will play The Master of the Mystic Arts. About time Marvel! No offical date has been set for the movie yet but Marvel is supposed to have some big announcement tomorrow. What do you guys think of this casting choice?

Constantine season 1 premiere review. So let me start by saying I'm not all that familiar with Constantine in the comics. So it's starts off with John in a mental institution. He then sees a cockroach and then another, he follows it and finds a woman who is possessed. He exercises the demon. And then leaves the institution. So we see this girl named Liv as she's leaving work, as she's leaving her car dies and she starts walking, then the ground begins to crumble and opens up and fire comes up from the ground. Then John pulls up in a cab and introduces himself to her. He goes down in the hole and an angel appears. The angle tells John that something is on the way. So Liv gets driven home by a friend. As she enters her apartment she sees a man. She goes inside and the man carves something on her door. Then something happens and her friend that lives across the hall is killed... So we think. Her body starts moving in the back of the medical examiner's van. She is ...

Marvel annouced another title that it will be revisiting. So today Marvel annouced yet another title that it will be revisiting in 2015, this time it's Old Man Logan. So far Marvel just keeps announcing titles that it will revisit with no explanation why. If someone knows why please let me know. I'll keep you guys posted if any more news comes up!

Arkham Manor issue 1 review. So this book sounded interesting which was why I picked it up. So I haven't been keeping up with the Batman titles so I was a little confused at first. Apparently Arkham Asylum has been destroyed and Gotham needs a place to keep the inmates. Bruce Wayne is living in an apartment and not in Wayne Manor for some reason, but is obviously still using the Batcave. So they start using Wayne Manor to house the inmates. They change the name to Arkham Manor and make it suitable to house inmates. There has already been a murder and Batman is investigating. The introduce a guy at the end named Jack Shaw, I don't know if he will be the main villain but it seems like he's going to have a bigger role and was possibly the guy that committed the murders. So honestly I don't really know what to think of this book. I guess I had a thought in my mind of what it was going to be before I read it and it wasn't what I was expecting. I don't know how I...

Five Ghosts issue 13 review. I'm so glad this book is back, it's been way to long and I'm excited for this new storyline. First off for those of you who haven't read Five Ghosts before this is a good jumping on point because it does start a new storyline. So this arc is called "Monsters and Men", Pretty appropriate considering it's October. As always it was a quick read but it was really good. Fabian is traveling though Eastern Europe looking for Sebastian who he thinks has been kidnapped. As he's traveling he sees a kid in the woods surrounded by these monsters that look somewhat like zombies, he then kills them all and saves the kid. They travel to a village together where the kid was delivering medicine because there is a plague spreading thought the village. They go to the village doctor and the kid tells him of the monsters and the doctor takes Fabian in for the night. The doctor tells Fabian of an old legend surrounding a wealthy family that...

Avengers Age of Ultron Trailer update. So it seemed like just mere minutes after the trailer had leaked Marvel pulled it off the internet and you couldn't find it anywhere. But now Marvel has had a change of heart and officially released it themselves. So you guys should be able to find it pretty easy now. Let me know what you guys think!

Avengers Age of Ultron trailer leaked. So yesterday it was announced that the Avengers Age of Ultron trailer would premiere on next weeks Agents of Shield episode. But someone leaked it today. And it looks AMAZING! It was only a teaser so it was just over a minute long. We get to see a little of each character. We get our first look at Ultron. We get to see the Hulk-Buster Armor, which looks awesome. We also get to see Cap's shield broken into pieces. So this looks like a much darker movie than the first Avengers movie. Our heroes don't look happy. Why is Iron Man fighting the Hulk? How will Cap get his shield fixed? Will there be a Wakanda and Black Panther appearance? Who knows but this movie looks awesome and I can't wait to see it!

The Flash Good news everyone, The CW has ordered a full season of The Flash. So we will get 23 episodes this season, which is great because I'm really enjoying the show so far and I'm looking forward to seeing how the stroy will progress and how the characters will develop. Fantastic Four cancelled. Well it looks like the rumors of Marvel cancelling the Fantastic Four comics in protest of the FOX movie is true. It's definitely surprising to see the title that launched the Marvel Age of Comics is being cancelled. For those of you who don't know,while DC was flourishing in the early Silver Age with all its newly reinvented characters like The Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman, and it's mainstay characters like Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman, along with the creation of the Justice League of America, Marvel Comics was struggling. It wasn't until Stan and Jack collaborated in 1961 to come up with the Fantastic Four, that Marvel began to flourish as well. And the success of Fantastic Four let Marvel move forward, introducing books like Amazing Spiderman, The Incredible Hulk, Xmen, and the Avengers. I know Marvel wants to get the movie rights to Fantastic Four back from FOX but I'm not sure cancelling the comics title is the way to do it...

What is Marvel up to? Part 2 So in a previous post I mentioned how Marvel was rebooting a lot of titles next year that they had already done. Well since then they announced a few more. Marvel will be doing another House of M series as well as another Infinity Gauntlet series. Which leaves the question of why? Why is Marvel releasing all these titles next year that they had already previously released? Are these going to be sequels? Are they going to be reboots? I have also heard that some will be one shots and not ongoing series. If any further info is released I will be sure to let you guys know!

What is Marvel up to? So recently Marvel has announced a number of upcoming comic series that they are working on and will release next year. They've annouced Secret Wars, Civil War, Armor Wars, a Marvel Zombies and Age of Ultron crossover event and a Planet Hulk storyline. So with all that being said, why is Marvel revisiting old story lines? They have done all those before. Are they just rebooting those stories? Are they going to be sequels to the originals? Who knows? But it does seem odd that they would revisit so many stories that they have done in the past. I guess another Civil War story would make sense because it's been rumored that Marvel is heading in that direction with their movie universe. But why all the others? And especially a story like Secret Wars, it was a pretty big event in Marvel Comkcs history, especially with the introduction of Spider-Man's black suit. So it would be hard to reboot something like that. So I guess we'll just have to wait and se...

Batman vs Superman leaked info? So apparently an extra in the movie has leaked some info to a news station. And I guess that person could face a $5 million dollar fine if they are found out because of a confidentiality agreement you sign to work on the movie. But anyway let's get to the info. So according to the source, there will be a Robin in the movie, and it will be Carrie Kelley, which will be played by actress Jena Malone. Also according to the source, there is a pretty big fight between Bruce Wayne and Lex Luthor and the military will also be involved in the fight. I will keep you posted with any further updates!

Justice League movie updates. Some sources are reporting updates on the Justice League movie. Apparently the events of the Man of Steel movie has set the course for all the rest. According to sources, Batman vs Superman will end with the Justice League appearing and figuring out the mastermind behind the events of that movie was Brainiac. And so Justice League part 1 will consist of the Jutcie League, made up of Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Aquaman and Cyborg, defeating Brainiac and that movie will end with Green Lantern arriving and warning the League that Darkseid is coming. So I assume Justice League part 2 will be a battle against Darkseid. I'll keep you guys updated wi any further news.

BREAKING NEWS!!! Update on DC movies! So earlier today the news broke that DC had 10 movies planned from 2016-2020. We have since got a few more details on those movies. In 2017 we will see a solo Wonder Woman movie, obviously the role will be played by Gal Gadot. Also in 2017 we have the first of two scheduled Justice League movies, Henry Cavil and Ben Affleck will reprise their roles for those movies. In 2018 the Flash be released and Ezra Miller will play the fastest man alive. So what does this mean for the Flash TV series with Grant Gustin, will it end before the Flash movie is released or will DC just have a movie universe Flash and TV universe Flash? Who knows? Also slated to release in 2018 is Aquaman. And the long standing rumor was that Jason Momoa would play the King of Atlantis, and it looks like that's finally been confirmed. In 2019 the Shazam movie will be realesed and as already confirmed Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson will play Black Adam. And in 2020 R...

BREAKING NEWS!!! DC ANNOUNCES MOVIE SCHEDULE THROUGH 2020!!! I guess unlike Marvel, DC doesn't mind telling its fans what upcoming movies will be. So here's the schedule, 2016: Batman vs Superman Dawn of Justice Suicide Squad 2017: Wonder Woman Justice League 2018: The Flash Aquaman 2019: Shazam Justice League 2 2020: Cyborg Green Lanter Well those are some awesome movies coming up. I look forward to seeing who is cast in those rolls. If any further details emerge I will let you guys know!

Robert Downey Jr joining Captain America 3? It is now being reported that RDJ might possibly be joining, and it's looking very likely, the cast of Captian America 3. It's also being reported that, that film will use elements from the Marvel Comics event, Civil War, and lead the MCU in that direction. RDJ had said that there was a big announcement coming and we all thought that meant another Iron Man film in his future, but that rumor was shot down pretty quick. So now it's looking like Marvel might be headed for a Civil War, which is interesting considering Marvel just announced at NYCC that it was launching a new Civil War event in the comics next summer. So this leaves a lot of questions unanswered, Avengers Age of Ultron is obviously centered around Ultron, so when is Thanos getting his movie arc? We thought that the Avengers movies were headed towards an Infinity Gauntlet storyline, but now if Marvel is headed for a Civil War, where does that leave Thanos in all this...

Wonder Woman's origin. So there has been a lot of speculation around what Wonder Woman's origin in the Batman vs Superman Dawn of Justice movie would be. And it looks like it's been confirmed that they have decided to go with the New 52 origin, where she's a demigod and the daughter of Zeus. I'm ok with them using that origin story. I'm definitely happy that the earlier rumor of her possibly being a Krytonian wasn't true because that would have been awful. So let me know what you guys think, are you cool with them using the New 52 origin?

Marvel: Civil War coming? So today Marvel announced that a new Civil War storyline is coming next summer. And this announcement comes just days after they revealed that they were relaunching Secret Wars. As far as Civil War goes there really haven't been any details released yet, and who knows if it will crossover into the Secret Wars storyline. I'll keep you posted when more news hits!

The Walking Dead season 5 premiere review. It's been a long wait but the Walking Dead is finally back. "They're screwing with the wrong people" let's see if that's true. SPOILERS ahead if you haven't seen the episode. So we start right were we left off, with the group trapped in the train car, and it looks like they are prepping for battle. Someone drops a flash bang in the train car and takes the group into this room. It looks like these guys are dismembering a body in there. These guys start cutting people's throats and letting them bleed out into a big tub. They stop at our group. And Bob is talking to Gareth. Then Gareth is asking Rick about the bag that he hid. Rick tells him what's in it then tells him he's going to kill him. Then we hear gunfire outside. And a big explosion. So far it really isn't looking so great for our guys here. The year of the comic book shows is upon us! Quick reminder that the Walking Dead season 5 premieres tonight at 9pm est on AMC, I will post my review for that episode tonight. But anyway, comic book adaptations certainly seem to be taking over television. With existing shows like Arrow, Agents of S.HI.E.L.D., and the Walking Dead, along with shows that were just added this year like Gotham, the Flash, and shows still to come like, Constantine, iZombie, and Preacher. It's crazy to think just a few years ago none of these shows existed but know they are hits. And the comic book adaptations won't stop there, there are already more shows in the works like, Five Ghosts, Supergirl, and Teen Titans. And more shows seeminly being optioned for movie or TV deals each day. It's great to see how the comic book industry is finally getting the long overdue respect that it has deserved. With hit TV shows and box office hits I think the future of our beloved medium looks very bright. S...

Marvel It was announced at NYCC that Marvel had three more ongoing series planned. Those new series will be a Gamora series, an Ant-Man series staring Scott Lang, and finally a Spider-Gwen series that I know a lot of people are excited for. NYCC final day updates. So I haven't heard much in the way of news coming out of New York Comic Com today, but that's to be expected, Sunday is usually a slow day. However I was able to watch the Gotham panel on the live stream today. I didn't really take away a lot from the panel but there were a few interesting things said. As to the question of whether or not we would see Harley Quinn in the series, there wasn't really an answer for that. And a fan had asked if the comedian telling Fish Mooney jokes in episode 2 was the Joker, they'd didnt really answer that one either, but said if they were developing a Joker character he probably wouldn't be telling jokes at that point in his life. They did however confirm that we will see Victor Zsasz in episode 7. They also mentioned that there is a great moment between Alfred and Bruce in episode 8. And finally they confirmed that we will see Harvey Dent in episode 9. If I hear anything else I'll let you guys know...

NYCC goes wild? Whenever you have large crowds there are known to be unruly people especially at sporting events and clubs, but generally not at comic book conventions. But apparently today Marvel was scheduled to have a cast signing for the cast of the upcoming Daredevil series that will air on Netflix. But it was cancelled after the crowed was to unruly for Marvel. From what I understand announcements were made for people to form an orderly line and I guess Marvel wasn't satisfied by how people were acting so they cancelled the event. Naturally the people that had been waiting in line weren't to happy with that. No word yet if the event will be rescheduled or not. I'll keep you guys posted if there is anymore news on the event or anymore NYCC drama!

NYCC day 3 updates. So there has been a lot of cool news coming out of New York Comic Con today. I'll start with the big event of the day first, but let me say I want to thank New York Comic Con and Twitch TV for partnering and broadcasting there panels on a Twitch live steam so that those of us who couldn't make it to the con could also enjoy the panels. So that being said, let me start with the Walking Dead panel. I watched the entire panel, except they cut away when the exclusive footage was shown. It was said that the season 5 premiere takes place right after the season 4 finale. Robert Kirkman stated that this season will stick closer to the comics than any of the previous seasons. It was announced that the second half of the season will premiere on Sunday, February 8th. Andrew Lincoln also joked about wishing he hadn't killed Shane, because he said that Rick is brutal this season and kills a lot of people. Wytches movie? It looks like Wytches, the new Image Comics title, written by Scott Synder and drawn by Jock, has been optioned for movie development. Prices for this book are already on the rise and some variants, especially the NYCC variant, are reaching very high prices right now. So pick this book up now if you can!

Some new rumors. So it's been rumored for quite a while now that the big bad in the Justice League movie would be Darkseid, now it's being rumored that Braniac will be the villain in the movie, not Darkseid. Also rumored for quite some time is that DC is working on a Suicide Squad movie, now it's being rumored that squad will consist of, Blockbuster, Multiplex, Jaculi, Mindboggler, Vixen, Captain Boomerang, and Deadshot. If there is anymore life given to these rumors I'll let you guys know!

NYCC day 2 updates. So I didn't really hear a lot of news coming out of the con today. I know there were a lot of panels going on, they had the Comic Book Men panel, Marvel and DC both had a few panels and the Agents of S.H.I.E.LD. Panel was today. Marvel did announce that they are making a Guardians of the Galaxy animated series. Sticking with animation, DC had a panel for their upcoming animated film, Justice League: Throne of Atlantis. I know Image had some panels today as well but not a whole lot of news coming out of day 2 of New York Comic Con. That's ok because everyone knows that Saturday is the big day, the Walking Dead panne is tomorrow and I'm excited to see if Marvel and DC have any other announcements. I will keep you guys posted!

Some news and NYCC updates. So New York Comic Con started today. Unfortunately I wasn't able to make it to the show this year, but news from the show has slowly been reaching the internet. The big news from Marvel Comics so far is that they are relaunching their Secret Wars series in May. I know DC was showing the second episode of the Flash tonight and screening the pilot episode of Constantine. Also in Flash news, they signed someone to play Pied Piper on the show, as well as someone to play Dr. Martin Stein, the other half of Firestorm alongside Ronnie Raymond. Also in Archie Comics news, Archie will be collaborating with Dark Horse Comics to do an Archie meets the Predator series... Yes you heard me correctly, Archie meets the Predator. Todd McFarlane had a panel today and announced that he will be releasing a new Spawn number 1 in January. Thursday usually isn't a big announcement day so I'll keep you guys posted as the con goes on.

Arrow Season 3 Premiere review. Amazing, that would be the word I'd use to describe tonight's episode. It was great from start to finish. So we start the episode off with Oliver having a flashback, and it looks like this season's flashbacks will take place in Hong Kong. We then get to see the team together again as they take down another bad guy. And we get to see Roy suit up, which was petty cool. Detective Lance is still having health problems and Laurel doesn't want him going in the field but of course he doesn't listen to her. We meet Ray Palmer in this episode. We got to see the Oliver and Felicity relationship get confusing... Well even more than usual, they go on a date, and I'm pretty sure I had the same reaction Oliver did when he saw Felicity in that dress. Anyway they seemed to be having a moment when their date is interrupted by an RPG being shot through the window of the restaurant they were at. Oliver is really struggling with trying to be bo...

The Flash Season 1 Premiere review. Ok wow that was a really great episode. The story was great and I really liked the characters. So as a comic book fan I always expect the studios to take liberties with the property and change some things, which they did, but I didn't really mind. So we see quite a bit in this episode. We see the death of Barry's mother at the hands of Professor Zoom aka Eobard Thawne. And his father is framed for his mothers murder. We also meet detective Joe West and his daughter Iris, who we all know from the comics as the love interest and future wife of Barry Allen. We also meet the S.T.A.R. Labs team members, one of which happens to be Caitlin Snow, and for those of you have have been reading the New 52 comics, might know her as Killer Frost. And the lead member of the S.T.A.R. Labs team is Doctor Harrison Wells, who is pretty mysterious. The villain in this episode was Weather Wizard, which was done pretty well. We also got to see a cameo appearan...

BREAKING NEWS!!! It has been officially confirmed that the Syfy channel is developing a Five Ghosts TV series. Based on the Image Comics title Five Ghosts, with its main character Fabian Grey. Fabian has a powerful magic stone imbedded in his chest and it allows him to access the abilities of five ghosts, a vampire, an archer, a wizard, a samurai and a detective. Five Ghosts is my favorite ongoing title, I can't wait until the new story arc starts. Five Ghosts was created by writer Frank Barbiere and artist Chris Mooneyham.

The strain episode 13 season 1 finale review. So we start off with the old rich guy who has now been healed, going down to the pawn shop and he meets the nazi vampire there. The nazi tells him that the Master healed him but he didn't turn him. So he's not immortal. So now we are seeing a flashback of Eph's wife and kid, then we see the team discussing their next plan. Now we see Gus, who was taken by those vampires that hunt other vampires. One of the vampires tell him to follow him somewhere. So the rich guy and his bodyguard are having problems. His bodyguard doesn't want to follow his plan anymore. The bodyguard quits and leaves. Eph and the exterminator go looking for the Master. They manage to find where they think the Master is hiding. So they leave and go to get backup. So the team regroups. So the rich guy and the nazi go to see some woman, I don't know if she's the mayor or what, but she has the authority to shut down roads and declare Marshall la...

Haven season 5 update. So I said before that I wasn't going to review each episode of Haven because I love the show and every episode is great. Well so far that's been true. We are four episodes into the season and each one has been great. This season has been very different from the rest with Mara opposed to Audrey. But it's still been good. The story is very interesting and progressing well. We are learning more about Vince and Dave, which has been cool. And we have learned more about Mara as well. Duke and Nathan are still awesome and the show as a whole has been just as good as I had expected. I'll keep you guys updated if there are any drastic changes to the story or if any significant event takes place. If you guys aren't watching Haven you need to be!

Update on Doctor Strange movie. Well it looks like Marvel has ended its negotiations with Joaquin Phoenix after months of trying to ink a deal for him to play Stephen Strsnge, it looks like that all fell apart. So the Doctor Strange movie is still without it's lead character. So who do you guys want to play Stephen Strange? I'll keep you posted with any additional news.

Gotham Academy #1 review. So for the first time in a while I picked up some new comic books on a Wednesday. I haven't been buying new issues lately because nothing has really interested me, until today. So I picked up a few things but the book I wanted to talk about is Gotham Academy. The initial reason that I picked this book up is because it's written by Becky Cloonan and I'm a big fan of her work. She's probably more known for her art but I was excited to see what she would come up with. She did do a variant cover for issue 1, but unfortunate my shop didn't have it so I'll have to pick that up at some point. But let's talk about the book. So not a lot happens in this issue but it's the first issue so that's understandable. We are introduced to a few characters. The strain episode 12 review 9/28/14 So first off sorry that I didn't post a review for the last episode, but last week we left off with the team almost getting the Master.  So they start by regrouping at the pawn shop.  Then we see a flashback after WWII and the vampire hunter is tracking down the Master.  We also see that the vampire hunter had a wife.  The vampire hunter keeps a vampire heart in a jar, that's gross and weird.  So the hacker girl returns to the team.  So she wants to use the emergency alert system to notify people about what is happening.  Gus takes some guy at gunpoint and forces him to drive him.  So the vampire hunter guy isn't looking so great these days.  Now we flash back again, he is hunting the Master, he goes down this old well and into this sort of cave or tunnel. So after going down the tunnel he comes across of group of vampires and the Master talks through one of them, he goes back to the wel...

Avengers 3 is going to be slip into two movies? Just a quick update on the rumor mill. It appears the newest Marvel movie rumor is that Avengers 3, which we are all assuming will be the Infinity Gauntlet story in which the Avengers will battle Thanos, is going to be split into two movies. It's looking like Avengers 3 is set to be released in 2018 with an untitled Marvel movie coming a year later. So could this rumor be true? Who knows, but how would you guys feel about having to wait a year to see the conclusion to Avengers 3?

Agents of Shield season 2 Premiere.   So Shield starts with a flashback and Agent Carter cameo.  I still don't like Skye, I think she's extremely annoying, and she's an agent now too?  And wasn't Shield dismantled after Captain America the Winter Soldier? Why are they still a part of Shield if there is no Shield?  I guess that's supposed to be Absorbing Man, yet another character that nobody really cares about, but that's Shields m.o.   So far the acting is just as poor as it was last year.  Agent May is not believable at all, honestly the entire cast should just be replaced.  Fitz and Simmons were annoying last year but even more so this year. Boring dialog, boring dialog and more boring dialog... Oh wait more boring dialog.  A weird Skye and Ward conversation. Sorry a stupid conversation.  Oh Skye wants to be a badass this season... I'm really wondering how the like 5 or 6 remaining Shield members are planning to def...

Under the Dome season 2 review. So I decided that I wasn't going to review each episode, but do a season review at the end of the season. I did this because I knew with this show there could be some slow episodes and I didn't want to turn people off from the show if I gave an episode or two a bad review, because it really is a good show. So this season did start off somewhat slow for the first few episodes but the story was good. We did gain and lose some characters over the course of the season. As the season progresses the show definitely gets better. The story moves along and there are a lot of twists and turns. I did hear a lot of complaints about the later episodes from people but I liked them. So the season finale was really good. We lose a couple of pretty key characters, and SPOILER ALERT: Junior shoots Jim, I bet people have been waiting for that for a while. And the finale ends in a pretty interesting way. Gotham Premiere. So this isn't going to be a review, more like an overview.  So we kind of get a glimpse of each character in this episode.  We see Thomas and Martha Wayne get murdered. Harvey Bullock and Jim Gordon are partners and are on the Wayne case.  So as studios always do, they deviate somewhat from the original comic stories, which is expected nowadays. We get to see small parts from, Oswald Cobblepot, Edward Nigma, Selena Kyle, Ivy Pepper, Alfred Pennyworth, and Bruce Wayne.  Fish Mooeny, played by Jada Pinkett Smith, has a larger role as a sort of crime boss character with an affinity for baseball bats, she works for Carmine Falcone.  Bullock and Gordon get into some trouble but Carmine Falcone cuts them loose because he doesn't want dead cops on his hands, how nice of him... Gordon and Bruce have a conversation at the end of the episode and we get to see Wayne Manor.  You definitely get to see how dark and gritty and violent Goth...

I met comic book legend George Perez today. I got to meet one of the nicest people in comics today and that was George Perez. He is currently doing a nation wide signing tour to promote his new book from BOOM studious called Sirens. And it just so happened that his stop on his tour today was at my local comic shop. He was one of the nicest people I've ever met. He's so genuine and really appreciates his fans. And for someone who is a legend in the industry, that's pretty cool. It's always a great experience to meet someone that you've been a fan of, and you have a positive experience. So he was scheduled to be signing at my shop from 6-8pm tonight, I got to the shop early of course, at around 4:45, and George Perez had just gotten there a few minutes earlier. So for the first half hour or so there were only a few of us there, which was cool because we got to have a more personal conversation with him and ask a lot of question. Suicide Squad movie? Just a quick update. Apparently there is a Suicide Squad movie in the works. They haven't revealed any details yet as far as what team members could be featured. But I will keep you guys updated.

Supergirl TV show So it's official, CBS has made a commitment to produce a Supergirl TV show. Apparently the show will follow Kara as she learns how to use her powers. It sounds a lot like Samllville, just substituting Kara for Clark. So we'll see how it turns out.

Deadpool Movie So there has been speculation over a Deadpool movie for years now, but it looks like it's finally going to happen. FOX announced today that it will finally be making a Deadpool movie that is set to release  on February 12, 2016 .  But to be honest I don't really see the appeal of the character. I've tried to read Deadpool books but I just can't get into it. I don't like the humor, there really isn't anything I like about the character. I don't think I'll ever understand why he's such a popular character.  But anyway I just wanted to keep you guys updated! 

Quick updates There has been a lot of news of new superhero movies and tv shows lately,  especially with DC. But there have also been talks about some shows that we haven't heard much about lately, so I just wanted to mention them. DC has some Vertigo titles being developed, I think. They are still making an iZombie show right? I mean I thought that iZombie was going to be released around the same time as Gotham, the Flash, and Constantine, but I haven't heard much about it lately. DC also talked about shows for DMZ and Scalped, but I haven't heard anything else on either one. An Image title that has been talked about lately is Five Ghosts, now I believe it's being adapted into a tv show, and I'm pretty excited for this one because I'm a huge fan of the book. Lucifer tv show coming? Another DC property has just been optioned for a pilot. Lucifer, who first appeared in issue 4 of Sandman, has been optioned by FOX. There hasn't been many details released yet but I'll be sure to keep you guys updated.  Now DC still has their Sandman movie in the works but I know they've said before that their tv properties won't cross over into the movie universe so I'm going to assume the Lucifer show won't be connected to the Sandman movie, but you never know.  Anyway, I'll keep you guys posted when I hear more!

The strain episode 10 review 9/14/14 So we start this episode off in the pawn shop. Eph's kid is trying to find his mom, so he tracked her phone. So Eph is going to try and find her. The Eph/Nora drama is annoying.  And his kid is wicked annoying. So the team is trying to form a plan to kill the Master. Eph goes looking for his wife but doesn't find her. Some homeless woman had his wife's phone. The woman shows him where she found the phone. Now we are flashing back to 32 hours earlier. Eph's wife is in bed when her infected boyfriend comes home. She goes to check on him but he's locked himself in the bathroom. She goes to work and finds most of the kids in her class are out sick. She starts to believe what Eph told her and wants to leave town. She goes back home to find her infected boyfriend there, he attacks her and she gets infected. She drives away, but now it's only a matter of time before she turns. Some time goes by and she's still in her car, a...

Granite State Comic Con 2014 My experience at the 2014 Granite State Comic Con was great. I was actually a volunteer this year, it was the first time I had ever volunteered at a con. It was a fun and interesting experience and I would definitely do it again next year So I'll tell you a little bit about what I did as a volunteer. So when I got there today I went to the front desk and let the person there know that I was there to volunteer. She directed me to anther woman who was one of the ones in charge, although we all just kind of policed ourselves and worked well together. But anyway, she then gave me a staff T-shirt to wear and showed me around. The first area I worked was in the front directing people as they came in. There were two different lines to buy tickets, one for people who were paying with cash and the other for credit, so I directed people to the correct lines. That was my main job for the day where I spent most of my time. I also answered any questions people h...

Haven Season 5 premiere Haven is finally back!!! It's felt like I've been waiting forever for Haven to start up again. Haven is definitely my favorite show on tv. This was a great episode. It definitely didn't disappoint. For those of you that watched last season, this episode took place right after last years season finale. I didn't start watching Haven during its first season, I actually started with the season 4 premiere last year. And the reason I watched it was because I heard that Colin Ferguson, who played sheriff Jack Carter on Eureka, which was one of my favorite shows, was going to be on season 4 of Haven. So I watched the season 4 premiere and had no clue what was happening or what the show was about, but I was so intrigued by the episode I was instantly hooked. I spent the entire week following that episode watching the first 3 seasons on Netflix, and I was able to watch all those episodes before the second episode of season 4 started. The very first ...

Teen Titans tv show? So yesterday I mentioned that a Supergirl tv show was supposedly being developed, now we are hearing that a Teen Titans show may be in the works as well. From what I've heard TNT is developing the show that will star Dick Grayson as Nightwing.  I haven't heard about what other members might be in the show but I will be sure to keep you guys posted on any new news. Some TV and movie news. So let's start with some rumors. Apparently Wonder Woman is going to be Kryptonian in the Batman versus Superman movie. If that's true that's ridiculous. Let's hope it's not. Next, I guess it's somewhat confirmed that DC is going to make a Supergirl TV show. I'm a fan of Kara so if this is true let's hope they do the character justice. Okay, so earlier today they released some more pictures of the new Batmobile. Honestly I think it looks horrible. What do you guys think? Also Jim Corrigan has been cast on the Constantine TV show, so who knows if we will see the Spectre or if he will just play the detective on the show. The strain episode 9 review 9/7/14 So last week was an awesome episode, let's see what we get this week. So Eph's kid goes home and finds his mom's boyfriend has turned. Luckily Eph and the gang were stopping by his house and Eph goes in and saves his kid. I bet it felt good to kill his wife's boyfriend. Back to Gus and his infected friend in the jail cell. His friend isn't looking so good. So Eph is looking for his wife. So the gang is gearing up for battle, they are going to regroup at the pawn shop. So the exterminator takes the hacker girl back to here apartment and she finds out that her friend actually made it back to her place and stole all her money and hard drives. So the vampire hunter has a heart to heart with Eph's kid. This episode is going back to the slow ways of the previous weeks. Back to WWII, the nazi vampire and the vampire hunter have a quick conversation about nothing. Some guy try's to attack the hacker chick in her apartmen...

Some updates Hey everyone, so first let me say I apologize for my absence this week. I was out of town and didn't spend any time on my computer. So I did watch the strain last Sunday and it was the best episode yet, I didn't write a review because I was packing and getting ready to go out of town. I will write a review for tonight's episode. I'm sure you guys have heard this news but I'll share it anyway. Heatwave was cast on the Flash tv show. Ras as Ghul was finally cast on Arrow, an actor named Matt Nable will play Ras. Dwayne the rock Johnson finally announced that he will play Black Adam in a Shazam movie. And I also watched Doctor Who last night, it was a great episode, again I didn't write a review because I was packing and getting ready to come home, so I will write a review for next weeks episode. Docotr Who episode 2 review 8/30/14.....sort of... Ok so I know last week I said I probably wouldn't watch another episode of Docotr Who this season because I really didn't like it last week. But I couldn't help myself, I like Doctor Who way to much not to watch it. I'm guess you could call this a review but I didn't really write one, I usually write my reviews as I watch the episode but I didn't want to write another negative review like last week because of how low my expectations for this week were. So all I'm going to say is that this episode was better and the Daleks are back. Still not a huge fan of Capaldi but he wasn't as bad as last week. Anyway I'll write a regular review next week. Another Arrow casting Amy Gumenick, a former Supernatural cast member, will join the cast of Arrow this season as Carrie Cutter, better known as Cupid. She is sort of like an Arrow stalker and will have some part in this upcoming season. She joins the long list of new characters that will be joining the show this season. Other characters that have already been announced are, Ray Palmer, Manhunter, Wildcat and Ras Al Ghul.

Comic book collecting... Hey everyone, so it's been about four or five weeks now since the last time I picked up any new comics on a Wednesday. For those of you who don't know, Wednesday is when the new issues for the week come out. But anyway, I just don't really feel like spending money on new books that don't have the best stories or the best art. I would much rather spend money on key issues and back issues that I need for my collection. So here are some tips for a new collector, and these tips are just my opinion. So if you're just getting into comic collecting I wouldn't really recommend buying new issues. They may be cheaper to buy but as far as collecting factor goes, it isn't really there. I think a lot of people have the misconception that every new book that comes out will be the next Walking Dead and the books will be worth a fortune. Walking Dead was one in a million and that will probably never happen with a modern book again. Sure some book...

An update and a rumor. So a few months ago we learned that Katana will be appearing on the upcoming season of Arrow. And we learned yesterday that the role had to be recast due to scheduling conflicts. Rila Fukushima will replace Devon Aoki as Katana on this season of Arrow. You may remember Rila from her role as Yukio in the Wolverine movie. So that is just a quick update on Arrow. And now for a rumor. Ms. Marvel has been rumored to appear in the upcoming Avengers 2 movie for quite some time. It looks like we have gotten some information that says she may be referenced in the movie but may not appear in it. What do you guys think of Carol Danvers, would you like to see her appear in the Avengers 2 movie? Or would you like to see her get her own solo movie first? And who would you like to see cast as the role of Carol Danvers/Ms Marvel?

Doctor Strange movie? So it's been rumored for probably almost a year now that Marvel was going to be making a Doctor Strange movie, and it looks like it's finally about to happen. And now it looks like Marvel is finally ready to cast the role. Today we learned that Joaquin Phoenix is in talks for the role and is supposedly extremely close to signing on. So what do you guys think about this casting choice? There are still very few details about the movie so far, what villains will be in the movie, or a possible release date. I will keep you guys updated on any further information!

Happy Birthday Jack Unfortunately the King, Jack Kirby is no longer with us, but today would have been his 97th birthday. Kirby is truly one of the best there ever was when it comes to comic book artists. He, along with Stan Lee, created some of the greatest comic book characters, such as the Xmen, the Incredible Hulk and the Fantastic Four, and so much more. He also did some amazing work for DC comics, such as Mister Miracle, the New Gods and more. He created his own style for drawing cosmic energy known as "Kirby Dots", which people still copy to this day. Jack Kirby is a true legend in the world of comics and his work will never be forgotten. We thank you for all your contributions to the industry and making it was it is today!

The strain episode 7 review 8/24/14 SPOILERS ahead. So this episode begins with the husband of the lawyer woman who was infected being attacked in a cab as he's being driven home, then he gets inside and sees that his wife has turned. And she kills him. Now back to Eph, Nora, and the vampire hunter....and more talking. So the vampire hunter is explaining to Eph that if you kill the Master all the vampires will die. That's pretty convenient. We are flashing back to WWII again, the nazi vampire goes into the camp and starts killing people, he found a Jewish carving and wanted to know who made it, turns out it was the vampire hunter that made it and the nazi vampire asks him to work on a special project, which turns out to be the Masters coffin. So Eph goes to see Jim, Jim explains to his wife that he's the one that is responsible for this disease getting out. She really isn't believing him. So it turns out that the nazi vampire was a nazi during WWII but not a vamp...

Doctor Who season 8. So season 8 of Doctor Who began last night and it was a giant disappointment. To be honest I think it might have been the worst episode of Doctor Who to date. It was so boring and really nothing about it was interesting. Jenna Coleman who plays Clara was ok, I've never been a huge fan of her as a companion. But Peter Capaldi, who plays the Doctor now, was terrible. He is the worst Doctor by a mile in my opinion. The episode was actually hard to watch it was so bad. And I like to consider myself a pretty big Doctor Who fan. So my question to my fellow Whovians is, what did you think of that episode? Am I overreacting? Or was it really that bad? Let me know what you guys think. I'm not even entirely sure if I'll watch another episode this season. Rumor has it that Jenna Coleman will be leaving the show after the Christmas episode and that Peter Capaldi is only a one season Docotr, honestly I hope the rumors are true. Another villain cast for the Flash show. So today it was announced that another villain has been cast for the Flash tv show. Girder will appear in the upcoming season of the Flash. Now this is a villain that I've never even heard of, and I'm honestly starting to get a little worried. They have cast so many different characters for the show and I hope it doesn't get overloaded. I hope it's not going to turn into "the creature of the week show" where the Flash battles a different villain each week and that's it. Do I want to see villains in the show? Sure I do, but like Arrow I want it to have a cohesive story. Arrow has cast it's fair share of new characters for its upcoming season as well, but Arrow already has two successful seasons under its belt. This will be the first season of the Flash, so I think they should focus on the main characters more and worry less about who he will take on each week. But we'll just have to wait and see go wit turn...

Felicity Smoak So probably around the time of San Diego comic com we heard that Felicity was getting an origin story episode on the upcoming season of Arrow. And the episode was called "Oracle". So us fans got excited that we may have a Barbara Gordon and Birds of Prey connection hear. But for some reason it was announced today that the Arrow producers have changed the name of the episode to "the secret origin of Felicity Smoak", so why did they change the name? It will be interesting to see what the episode will entail. They are going to introduce Felicity's mother but they have yet to say if her father will be revealed. So I guess we'll have to wait for the episode. I can't wait for season 3 of Arrow to start!
